Adds a term to the dictionary used to decide how node statuses are displayed ((e.g. “good” in green, “error” in red)) in the [[concepts:interface_layout|interface]]. 

  * **status text** is the text to be highlighted
  * **colour** is the colour to highlight with
  * **alert** is an optional flag – if included, this status will case the nodes tree-view to expand to display this status to alert the user.
